Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when there is a power outage?
All of our stair lifts are battery powered and will continue to work during a power outage. When your power comes back on your stair lift will automatically recharge.
Where can my stair lift plug in?
All of our stair lifts only need a standard 110VAC outlet to be plugged into. The outlet can be near the stairs, or even up to 20' away. Our stair lifts only draw a small amount of power in order to charge the batteries.
How long do stair lift batteries last?
Stair lift batteries generally last between 3-5 years, and are easily replaced when worn down.
Are stair lifts safe?
Yes!! Our stair lifts are built with either an automatic brake system, or a self locking worm gear to ensure that your lift will always operate safely at all times. We also provide a seat belt for peace of mind.
If a salesman comes to my home will he pressure me into buying something?
No!! We do not have salesman who won't leave your home until they have sold you something. We only have trained technicians who can answer all of your questions. The Tech. who first comes to your home is the same person who will be installing your lift. Nothing is ever hidden. You even get the cell phone number of your technician, so if you ever have a question you can call him directly.
My stairs are narrow, will a stair lift fit?
We only need 28" to install a straight lift. The user's knees take up most of the room, so we would need to see the staircase and the person who would be using the lift.
How long does it take to install?
Installation usually takes 2-3 hours depending on the lift and the stairs it is going on.
How soon can I have my lift installed?
The installation can be done usually within 2-3 days of the stairs being measured.
Can a stair lift go around corners?
Yes, our custom lifts can be made to fit on any staircase and park the chair off the stairs at the to or bottom of most staircases.
Can I use two straight stair lift instead of a curved stair lift?
Yes, this would depend on the staircase and the ability of the person who would be using the lift. Using two lifts would mean the person would have to transfer from one seat to the other across the landing.
Will a stair lift fit on my staircase?
Contrary to popular belief, stair lifts do not attach to your wall. They attach to the tread of your stairs. You will not need any special construction done to your home in order for a stair lift to fit your staircase. Even with a door at the top or bottom of your staircase we can adapt a stair lift to fit perfectly.
If I have a stair lift, can I still use my staircase?
Yes, while your lift is not us, it folds compactly and is easily out of the way.
